Paws & Paths Walking Club

Paws & Paths Walking Club

This summer, Supernova launched its very first walking club — Paws & Paths! The group meets weekly at different local parks, keeping things fresh and exciting. Some of our favorite spots include South Strabane Park, North Strabane Park, and Peters Lake Park. Walks are held on Wednesdays or Thursdays at 5:30 PM.

The name Paws & Paths comes from our favorite furry participants! Program Specialist and Recreational Therapist Michele Grande brings her pup Cappi, while Assistant Residential Director Melissa Hitchman brings Axel — a dog so big he’s often mistaken for a horse in disguise! The clients absolutely adore the dogs and look forward to seeing them each week. Walking or simply spending time with Cappi and Axel is often the highlight of their day — and the pups’ energy helps keep everyone motivated and smiling.

Paws & Paths is all about promoting health, wellness, and social connection. Participants typically walk about a mile each week (sometimes more!), enjoying good conversation and the chance to meet other dog lovers along the trails. The program encourages not only physical activity but also positive social interaction and community engagement.

This summer’s sessions included clients from our Residential program, and while the season has wrapped up, we can’t wait to welcome new members in the spring!
